Get Er Done!

Today Jake left for his first of 3 (so far) scheduled medical school interviews. I am extremely proud of him. It is such hard work to not only get the grades/experience/and MCAT scores, but also to apply. He has written so many essay's I have lost track. It takes a remarkable amount motivation to spend the needed hours on countless essay's. And finally his hard work is starting to pay off. His first interview is tomorrow at the University of Central Florida. We're not too excited about the prospect of moving to the other side of the country, but our family is ready to do anything to support him and his dreams. His next interview is in a week at the University of Texas in San Antonio. We are most excited about that one because we have heard great things about the school, the city, and the state. Plus it would be so CHEAP compared to most medical schools. 5,000/year and low cost of living, quite appealing if you ask us. In November he has an interview at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. Hopefully we will be hearing from our top choice medical schools on the West coast soon (Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Loma Linda, and Colorado) This has been such a long process, and its exciting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck tomorrow baby! We love you!

Goodluck Jake!! Central Florida would be awesome because they pay for your tuition since they are new!! Sean found out he got into San Antonio and he is headed out to Southwestern too in Nov SO maybe we will end up at the same place!! That would be fun to have friends to start out with:) Ugh the whole process is such a pain (and expensive!) it will be nice to have it all said and done!

I am sorry Sean informed me that Central Florida doesn't necessarily pay your tuition now...Texas would be much cheaper and closer to family! I have heard that San Antonio is a nice place.

Congrats to all three of you...just getting interviews at all is such a great accomplishment. I hope they go well...we'll keep you guys in our prayers.

We know multiple families who have moved to Texas for one reason or another (school or work) and all of them have absolutely loved it. They all pretty much talk about how they want to move back at some point. The cost of living is so cheap, but the jobs still pay fairly well. Also, Loma Linda is really close to where Tesera and I grew up.

Good luck!

Thank you for your support friends! It means the world to us :-)

Heather! Exciting and nerve wracking are great descriptions for how we feel :-) Thanks for your sweet comment.

Leslee! It would be so fun to end up in the same place. Congrats on all the acceptances.

Tesera and Blake! You guys are too sweet. We are hoping to hear from Loma Linda. I would LOVE to live in Cali again. And thanks for the prayers, keep em coming :-)

Jen! We would love to go to San Antonio. Jake was impressed by the school and the city. We will definitely let you know if we are heading that way.
