Loving the Play Gym

Hannah has loved playing in her cute new play gym. She's not quite 3 months but she is already using her hands to grab the toys and hang onto them or bring them to her face so she can suck on the toy. It is fun to watch her in it. Today she played in her gym for 45 mins while I sat next to her and caught up on some good reading. Every so often she would look up at me and talk or give me the cutest grin. Here are some fun pictures I took of her playing.

New Toys

Today Hannah and I had fun going on a mommy-daughter shopping trip. I got her a bunch of new toys, but these two are here favorites.

The Bumbo Baby Seat
I put Hannah in the chair and she seemed to love it! The first picture I took was this one with a HUGE smile. She sat in it for about 15 minutes just happy as a peach.

I've been looking at play mats for a few months but haven't been able to decide. Finally I went with this one because of its great reviews and the cheapest one I could find. Hannah loved laying under it and actually grabbed onto the toys hanging right above her. Needless to say it looks like we made some awesome purchases today that should help free my hands a little more.

Pay It Forward

"The first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive a handmade (or possibly store-bought) gift from me during this year. When and what will be a surprise. There's a small catch though...Post this same thing on your own blog and then come back and leave a comment telling me you're in. Remember, only the first 3 comments receive the gift!"

2 Month Check

Today was Hannah's 2 month check up. The doctor said that she looks wonderful and that we are doing a great job. I couldn't watch Hannah get the dreaded shots, so daddy stood up there with her and held her hands. She screamed for about 30 seconds but calmed right down and handled it better than daddy would have :) The only highlight was finding out her latest stats.

Height: 22 3/8" 50th %

Weight: 12 lbs 2 oz 75-90th % (cute and chunky)

Head: 41 cm 90-95th % (she's a smarty pants)

Family in Town

Here are some fun pictures taken this weekend while family was in town for Hannah's Blessing.

Hannah doesn't like to take a pacifier, but she does love to take daddy's finger. When David drove in from Rexburg the first thing he wanted was to hold his baby Hannah. They slept and snuggled for a few hours. This is how Jake discovered the two of them when he got home.
Justin and his girls loved baby Hannah too.

My brothers are amazing with my little girl.

Justin said when he put Hannah in Elissa's arms she was the happiest he'd ever seen her. Elissa is very nurturing and loved to stroke Hannah and make sure she was warm.

Uncle David adores his baby Hannah. You can tell Hannah thinks the world of David too, she was always smiling at him.

Hannah's Blessing

This past Sunday we were able to bless Hannah in church. All of my family, except my brother Paul, were able to make it to the blessing. Justin and his family drove 11 hours with 2 children under 5 years old. Luckily the kids were amazing travelers (the only time they cried was when their daddy took the wrong entrance and started heading back toward California :-) Jake's family also drove in from Idaho. We are so thankful for our wonderful family who went out of there way to be there for our daughter. It was a beautiful blessing and we got so many comments on how beautiful Hannah is and how gorgeous her dress was (Thanks Mimi!). And Hannah didn't make a peep during her blessing! While we were getting her all dressed up she was crying and I kept hoping she would calm down for the blessing. And she did. Apparently she let out a big smile when the men started bouncing her. What a beautiful day it was. We loved spending time with family who we normally just see on Holiday's.

Here are some pictures from her Blessing Day. She was happy and content the whole time, just not when we brought out the camera.

2 Months Old!

I can hardly believe Hannah is 2 months old! She is growing and maturing so fast! Yesterday, on her 2 month birthday, she laughed (while awake) for the first time! And not just once, but twice in a row! It was sweet music to a mother's ears. I was telling David something funny and we started laughing and Hannah put on this huge grin, leaned her head back, and laughed so hard! Ugh, how I wish there was a video camera rolling at all times. My brother David was there too, so once again I have a witness. Hannah loves to be talked to and will have "conversations with us". She is a pretty good sleeper at night and has been going 5-6 hours before the first night time feeding for about a month now. (Which makes it a lot easier on mommy.) We found out over the weekend that she loves children. My nieces were in town for her blessing and Hannah couldn't stop starring and smiling at them. You could tell she just wanted to get up and play with them. Hannah also loves to watch TV. If she is a little cranky, you just let her see the TV and she calms right down. During the Superbowl she was smiling and talking to the TV, so daddy is excited that it seems she will like watching football with him. Hannah has her 2 month appointment on Thursday, so we are looking forward to see how much she has grown. She is already fitting into 3-6 month clothes!
